Marked usually in March and April every year (depending on the altitude and respective weather patterns), blossom is a short-lived yet an incredibly charming season. Cherry Blossom (Sakura) in Gilgit-Baltistan is a Japanese ritual symbolizes a special spiritual occasion. It brings in tourists from Japan and other parts of the world including Thailand and China to witness the natural at its best.
Glazing between the harsh winters and hot summers, the ephemeral spring season is worth witnessing. Even in the valleys at high altitude, the spring reaches late and lasts a bit longer than its routine season. Be it a journey along the Karakoram Highway or to the remote valleys of Ghizer and Baltistan, in the backdrop of the Karakoram and Hindukush mountains, the green terraced fields and orchards decked with blooming trees displaying contrasting colours are simply heavenly.
